True Beauty
My 14 year old daughter Madison and I took a very special Mommy/Madison trip to California. I was teaching at David Wolfe’s Longevity Now Women’s Wellness Conference in Costa Mesa, and Madison joined me. Philippe stayed home with our four little ones because it was too far to schlep em for a three-day weekend, with the time change n all.
It was the first time Madison and I had had alone time (for more than a few hours, which is even rare) since Sagey was born eight years ago. A special trip indeed.
We had a blast going to Huntington Beach and Hollywood and Calabasas (where I went to high school) and talking to students before and after I taught. We swam and we ate and we laughed and we took in the eh, very different culture of LA. The moment we stepped off the plane Madison said, “Wow Mom, what’s the deal with the energy here?” I smiled at her keen perception and explained that LA is many things, but grounded it ain’t.
We had many great talks on our special trip; in fact, Madison got “the talking gene,” as my sister calls it, so there was never a silent moment on our many adventures. She noticed many billboards about losing weight and cosmetic surgery and we talked about the meaning of true beauty.
As we were flying home from our adventure, Madison said, “Mom, you know what the sign of real beauty is?” I smiled in anticipation of the beautifully spiritual wisdom she was about to impart on me. ”No, hon, tell me.”
“Its when you imagine someone bald and with no makeup, and . . . they’re still pretty. And, that’s you Mom.”
Uh, well, she’s only 14. : )
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!

Hi Taylor!
I was wondering what your thoughts on people who overuse words a lot…to the point where the words lose their meaning. For example, a friend(adult) who says “I love you” and “miss you” in every email and to lots of people.
Thanks
Rachel
