Maddie And The School Bus
Philippe and I homeschooled our kids for two years before concluding that although it was clearly academically superior (they’d finish their course work by 9 am and we’d have the whole day to play, explore, and go on adventures, and they were quickly, easily and joyfully 2 grades ahead), going to public school was a better fit for our brood because of the social stuff and experiences that only a school can provide.
So homeschooling taught us by contrast that traditional school was the best idea for our kiddos–and it also delivered me one of my very best friends.
While homeschooling, Philippe and I had several home school get togethers in our home town of Newton, Mass, in an attempt to connect with the Newton homeschool community, only to be repeatedly disappointed by the lack of fit for us. This made no sense to us because there we were, yogi hippies (and raw vegans at the time btw); yet we kept striking out with the Newton homeschoolers.
Then in walks Amy.
And I instantly knew…ahhhhhhh, yes, Universe, THIS is why we are homeschooling.
Amy and I will be friends for life.
When we sold our raw vegan restaurant in 2011, she was there for me in ways that friends I’ve had for decades were not. She just “gets it.”
Amy and I teach our kids about the law of attraction and deliberate creation every day with our words, but moreso with our actions. We walk our talk, and they take note, and imitate us–as all children imitate what their parents do, not what they say.
Amy just moved to Frankfurt, Germany for three years and last week her daughter gleefully enjoyed her first ride on a school bus. Because it was fun, and also because she’d manifested it.
Last year while living in Brookline, Maddie announced she was going to take a school bus to school. Amy explained to her that this wasn’t gonna happen–they lived two blocks from school.
Maddie begged to differ.
Six months later Amy’s husband announced they were moving to Germany for three years, and Amy and her children cheered. This family goes with the flow.
A few short months later Maddie was waving goodbye to her Super-mom from a Mercedes school bus in Frankfurt.
Are you utilizing the law of attraction to deliberately create yet?
Have the best day ever!
