Duh Quick Super-mom Tip That I Just Figured Out After Almost 16 Years of Being A Super-mom
Saturday morning as we were getting our five kids out the door to go to soccer, tee ball, and softball, we (surprise!) couldn’t find the right soccer shirts (only shirts from years past in the wrong colors), right tee ball shirt (ditto) and the right softball uniform and gear.
Sigh.
As if getting five kids out the door on time in the morning for various sports games isn’t enough, you have to have the right gear and colors to boot?
Oh and I ain’t even mentioning the five water bottles and abundant snacks, which my twin toddlers plough through like you’ve never seen.
Then it hit me: hide the (correct color) game shirts and gear in my closet, way up high where little hands can’t reach, and only pull em out on Saturday morning.
I was proud of this realization for about a minute before I started wondering, “How on earth could I have not thought of this before?” (My kids are now 2, 2, 5, 8, and 14).
Off we went to the games.
Later my friend was over and I wanted to share with her the “secret” I’d discovered. Her kids are 8, 12, and 20, but hey, better late than never. She smiled in her beautiful, loving, accepting way and said gently, “Oh yeah, I have all my kids stuff for sports right next to the front door (hidden I’m assuming) in plastic baggies all set to go.”
I told her she rocked (she does) and even if most of you already know this quick Super-mom tip, maybe some of you don’t, and my Sisters, it gonna save you some time, energy, and maybe just maybe, frustration.
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!

Hi Taylor,
I was wondering what your thoughts were on over-scheduling kids with activities? I would love to read a post about this topic, if you haven’t already posted one on it. Also, is there any chance you could either re-post or let me know where in the archives an article you wrote a while ago is located? It was a topic having to so with letting an old friendship end without feeling bad about it? Always enjoy reading your posts:)
Be well
Rachel
